Winter and snow can bring a pretty long stretch of boredom due to the limited amount of activities available. Nasty road conditions and closings can play a big part in this, too. Luckily, there are tons of things that you can do at home that won't make too big of an impact on your wallet, and will also be loaded with fun! So stop worrying about not having enough money to have fun, and start doing the things that require little to no monetary support at all!

1. Go see the Christmas lights in the park. When many people think of winter, Christmas automatically comes to mind. One fun thing to do that many people treasure as a tradition is riding through their local park and seeing all of the Christmas lights and decorations. Chances are, there will be a showing in your vicinity and you can take the whole family to go see the lights.

2. Go sledding. If you've got a sled that's been sitting in your closet for a little too long, it's time to whip it out and put it to good use. Find a popular sledding location with big hills to get the most fun out of your sled.

3. Build snowmen. This is a classic activity that many people do as soon as there's enough snow to do so. You can create any kind of snowman you want; it all depends on your creativity. Be sure to round up some scrap clothing to put on him/her, and be sure to snag a carrot and other items for the facial features!

4. Bundle up in PJ's and play video games. Who says you have to go outside to have fun during winter? Invite some friends over and fire up your favorite gaming console for some fun.

5. Make snow ice cream. You can search up a high-rated recipe on the internet, print it out and get to work. Once you're finished, you can invite friends and family over to try out your delicious concoction.

6. Use a slingshot with snowballs. This is a pretty fun activity for everyone of all ages. You can split up into teams among your friends and have one slingshot per team. You can set up bases with slingshots and have an all out war! This a great way to have good, clean fun during the winter season.

7. Have a bonfire in a clearing in the snow. Who says it's got to be at the peak of summer to have a bonfire? Clear out a spot in the snow to set up dry wood so that you can have a nice bonfire.

8. Roast marshmallows in the fireplace if you have one. This is a nice way to beat the snow but also enjoy the winter season. There's something very warm about roasting marshmallows and making s'mores over the fireplace in your home.

9. Play survivor in the wild. This can be fun for the whole family in the event that winter sparks some boredom. You can build a fort with everyone, and even bring just the essentials to test everyone’s endurance.

10. Have a contest to see who can build the biggest snowball. This can be an interesting activity as snowballs are only as big as your strength allow. Once you’re finished, take a picture of everyone’s snowball side-by-side!
